What we collect
Nothing. Measure has no user accounts and no sign-in, and includes no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We operate no servers that could receive your data, and we do not build a profile of you.
Camera
- Live measuring needs the camera, so the app can see the surface you are pointing at and read the distance to it. Camera access is requested the first time you use it.
- Camera frames and depth readings are used in memory only, to work out the length you asked for. They are not recorded, not saved to your device, and never uploaded, and they are discarded as the session continues.
- Measure adds nothing to your photo library, and takes no photographs of its own while you measure. The one exception is the optional sensor check (This iPhone → Sensors): it captures a single still from each of this iPhone's depth-capable cameras purely to find out what depth data that camera actually returns. Those stills are examined in memory and then discarded — never saved to your device, never added to your photo library, and never sent anywhere.
Photos you choose
- Measuring a photo uses Apple's own system photo picker, which needs no photo-library permission at all. Measure receives only the single image you pick; the rest of your library is never handed to the app.
- From that image it reads the picture itself, any depth data it carries, and the camera calibration recorded by the device that took it. All of this is read on your device, in memory, and only to produce the measurement you asked for.
- The optional sensor check is the one place Measure asks for access to your photo library, and only if you tap Run and allow it. It counts how many photos your library holds and how many of those are depth-effect photos, then reads up to 40 of the most recent depth-effect photos in memory to see whether their depth is accurate enough to measure with. Only the resulting counts are kept, in the on-device report described below — no photo is copied, saved, or uploaded.
- Measure never modifies, deletes, or writes anything to your photo library.
Room scans
A room scan builds an approximate model of walls, doors and floor area using your device's own scanner. The model is created and used entirely on your device for the duration of the scan. It is not uploaded and not shared.
What is stored on your device
Measure keeps a small amount of information inside its own private app storage, on your device only:
- your chosen language, and whether you have seen the help screen;
- measurements you choose to save, including any note you type on them — the free version keeps the three most recent, and Measure Pro keeps them all;
- a calibration record, if you run the accuracy check;
- a diagnostic report, if you run the optional sensor check. It lists what this device can do — its
model identifier (for example
iPhone15,3), the iOS build, how much memory it has, which depth formats its cameras support — plus the two counts from your photo library described above. It contains no photos, no measurements, and nothing that identifies you.
None of this leaves your device unless you send it yourself. Measure has three explicit Share buttons: export your saved measurements as a CSV file (date, length, ± tolerance, method, source and any note you wrote), share the calibration record, or share the diagnostic report. Each one does something only when you tap it and choose where the file goes — iOS hands it over, not Measure, and we never receive a copy. Everything above is removed if you delete the app. Because we never receive any of it, there is nothing for us to retain, correct, share, or delete on your behalf.
Subscriptions & payments
Measure is free to use for live measuring. Measure Pro is an optional purchase — monthly or yearly auto-renewable plans, or a single lifetime payment. Purchases are handled entirely by the Apple App Store under your Apple ID: we never see or store your payment details. Your entitlement is checked on-device with the App Store. Billing terms are shown before you buy, and you can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your device's Settings.
Network connections
Measure makes no network connections of its own, to us or to anyone else. Measuring works fully offline, including in airplane mode. The only network activity involved is Apple's own App Store communication when you buy, restore, or verify Measure Pro, and — if you tap them — the privacy and terms links, which open in your browser.

Third parties
Measure bundles no third-party advertising, analytics, tracking, or cloud services, and sends nothing to any third party. The only external party involved at all is Apple, which processes purchases as described above under Apple's own privacy policy.
Children
Measure is a general-audience utility, rated 4+, and collects no personal data from anyone, including children. It contains no ads, no external advertising links, and no communication features.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the date above.
