Privacy Policy — Ashta Chamma: Cowrie Race 🐚
Last updated: 18 September 2026
Ashta Chamma itself does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. It is a pass-and-play cowrie race for one or two players on a single device that is fully playable offline. Since version 2.0 the app is free and supported by advertising, which involves a third-party ad provider as described below.
Information the app collects
None. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics. It does not request your name, email, contacts, location, photos, identifiers, or any other personal data.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
To keep the game free, version 2.0 and later display ads using Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and process certain data, such as device identifiers and usage or diagnostic information. We have configured the ads to be:
- Non-personalized — never based on a profile of your interests.
- Child-directed — the app tells Google its audience includes children, so your device's advertising identifier is not transmitted.
- Rated for general audiences (G) — suitable for all ages.
- Not used for cross-app tracking — the app never shows the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- A banner only, on the start screen only — no full-screen ads, and never while a round is being played.
Google's collection and use of this data are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. In the European Economic Area and the UK you are asked for consent on first launch, and you can change your choice at any time from Privacy and cookie settings on the start screen.
When the device is offline, no ads load and no ad data is exchanged — the game remains fully playable, exactly as before.
What the app does not collect
No accounts or sign-in. No name, email, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera. No precise location. No analytics of our own, and no profile built by us. Fonts and artwork are bundled in the app, so nothing but the ad request ever leaves your device.
Data storage
Game state (scores, the current round, your chosen language and settings) exists only in memory while you play and is discarded when the app closes. Nothing is written to disk, cookies, or any cloud service.
Children's privacy
Ashta Chamma is suitable for children and is listed under Games ▸ Board with Education as a secondary category, rated 4+. It is not part of Apple's "Made for Kids" category. Ads are requested with child-directed treatment and limited to a general-audience (G) rating, the advertising identifier is not transmitted, and there are no purchases, communication features, or external links inside the game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents and guardians can further limit ad-related data in their device's privacy settings — on iOS under Settings → Privacy & Security, and on Android under Settings → Privacy → Ads.
